A classic Chilla, is a pancake made with Bengal Gram flour or Besan. Known for its simple nature, Chillas best serve as breakfast dishes or evening snacks. They are light, thin, and delicious. Additionally, Chillas can be made within a matter of a few minutes which makes them more favourable!

Since the classic Chilla recipe is made with Besan, there are many variations made all over the country that spice up this simple dish and make it even more flavourful. They are usually paired with a chutney or sauce and can be served with tea or juice, making it a filling breakfast. Chillas are known for their lightness and wholesomeness.

This Chilla recipe is made with AASHIRVAAD Multi Millet Atta.. The Chillas will contain the goodness of several millets including Jowar, Bajra, Ragi etc along with perfectly seasoned and cooked veggies for the stuffing. Recipe information 

  • Time: 20 minutes
  • Serves 5


  • ¾ Cups Aashirvaad Multi Millet Mix Flour
  • 2 tbsp Besan
  • 1 tbsp Rice Flour
  • Asafoetida
  • Aashirvaad Salt to Taste
  • Water
  • Butter
  • ½ tbsp Cumin Seeds
  • Chopped Green Chilli
  • ½ Chopped Tomatoes
  • Paneer Cubes
  • Boiled Green Peas
  • 1 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Coriander



  • Begin with the stuffing. Heat butter in an non-stick pan and fry green chillies, cumin seeds, tomatoes
  • Once the veggies are sufficiently cooked, add paneer cubes, green peas and seasonings: salt, chaat masala and mix it all together
  • Once cooked, turn off the heat and leave aside


  • Mix Aashirvaad Multi Millet Atta, Besan, Rice flour, a pinch of Asafoetida, Salt and water and stir till there are no lumps and your Chilla batter is ready
  • Use a non-stick pan and lightly coat it with butter or oil before spreading the batter in a circular motion. Make sure the method is like that of a dosa or a pancake
  • Cook till the sides turn brown and lift, then slowly flip the Chilla so that the opposite side is cooked too
  • Once done with the Chillas, place the previously made stuffing inside them and serve with some chutney and ketchup on the side!
